More Than a Lament: Poetry from the Writers Collective is a chapbook of poetry from Zendra Giraudo, Dureshawar Khan, Rashida Murphy, Marziya Mohammedali, Asha Rajan and Andrew Sutherland.
On August 31st 2025, at the Perth Poetry Festival, five poets created and performed their interpretation of home and identity as refuge, exile, dissent, comfort, faith and belonging. We took our cues from Warsan Shire’s iconic poem Home and Mahmoud Darwish’s Diary of a Palestinian Wound. The resulting performance, voiced by four poets, was titled More than a Lament. This chapbook is a compilation of that performance.
Proceeds from sales will support donations to the Gaza Soup Kitchen.
